About Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls a resort town within the northwestern Zimbabwe. The town faces Livingstone, Zambia, across the river. Victoria Falls tonw was founded in conjunction with the construction of a steel-arch railway bridge just below the waterfall in 1905 with the Victoria Falls Hotel dates from that year. In 1930 the bridge was altered to carry automobile traffic as well as trains. Victoria Falls is the customs and immigration post for travelers to and from Zambia and a major tourist centre. It is surrounded by Victoria Falls National Park. The township has an international airport 14 miles (22 km) away.
