Itineraries

Day 1 - 2

The Victoria Falls

Your driver will be awaiting for you at the airport which is located 21 km South-East of the Victoria Falls Town to transfer you to Shearwater Explorers Village lodge, offering the modern pioneer a perfect haven from which to investigate Victoria Falls and stay there for two nights; then later towards sundown you will be picked for the Sunset dinner cruise offering splendid scenery with many hippos, crocodiles, including elephants which cross the river to feed on the islands and exotic birdlife. As magical sunset charm settles over the river, lanterns are lit and a wonderful three-course dinner is served. Prepare yourself the following day for a Guided tour of the Falls in the morning then later you will go on for a traditional local village tour and as the evening approaches you will be picked for an unforgettable African experience infused with Zimbabwean cuisine, the buffet Boma Dinner before your tomorrow's early morning transfer to Hwange National Park.

Day 3 - 4

Hwange National Park

After breakfast you will be picked for a drive approximately 2 hours long, passing through Hwange, a rustic and charming town dotted with villages within rural Africa to Ganda Lodge that overlooks the Ganda pan, a natural waterhole, which attracts a wide variety of bird and animal species including Elephant, Buffalo, Lion and a variety of waterfowl. After lunch an experienced and informative guide drives you into the thick bush of Ganda lodge estate through the beautiful teak woodlands of the Sikumi Forest bordering the Hwange Nat-Park. The following day enjoy the Hwange Nat-Park day trip into Zimbabwe’s premier wildlife area on safari game drives through different routes; later enjoy a picnic lunch and ride back into these rolling plains and see the last great free-ranging elephant population with nearly all major species and accompanying predators such as zebras, lion, impalas, hyenas, roan, sable, kudu; having the sun downer in nature and finishing the day with dinner at the lodge.

Day 5 - 6

Matobo National Park

After an eventful experience of an African Safari of the Hwange Nat-Park and a quiet bushy sleep at Ganda lodge; depart with your driver after breakfast for an almost 4 hours 30 minutes’ drive to Cresta Churchill Hotel which is 6 km from the city centre of Bulawayo in peaceful, quiet surroundings with charming Tudor architecture that recalls days gone by and offers luxurious accommodation. Chose from any various activities such as the Bulawayo city tour, Khami Ruins and Chipangali Wildlife sanctuary tour before your dinner, having tomorrow a Matobo day trip adventure. Experience an amazing game drive in an open safari vehicle with professional guides offering the perfect opportunity to get up close to Zimbabwe’s wildlife, culture and history as you enjoy a full day tour within Matobo National Park where we Track Rhino on foot, a three course meal picnic lunch then we take you to ancient bushmen paintings then on to see Cecil John Rhodes grave accompanied by a beautiful sunset scenery.

Day 7 -8

Gonarezhou National Park

After an amazing stay at Cresta Churchill Hotel, grab your breakfast and check-out the hotel and head to Kingfisher Lodge with your driver for an almost 5 hours 30 minutes drive. You will check-in and stay for two nights at Kingfisher lodge which is an exclusive Guest House tucked away in the little town of Chiredzi in the South East corner of Zimbabwe close to Gonorezhou National Park.
“Gonarezhou” means “Place of Many Elephants” and it is also a birder’s paradise. The following day you set off for the Gonarezhou day trip, armed with a packed lunch to experience this unique ecosystem and its astonishing flora and fauna. Here you have the chance to see 4 of Africa’s “Big Five”, including elephant, leopard, lion and buffalo - as well as a multiplicity of other animal and bird species. You will journey through Chipanda pools, the Runde river home to aquatic wildlife such as the Zambezi shark, freshwater goby, black bream and the unique turquoise killifish. One of the most prominent and enduring natural features of Gonarezhou are these majestic Chilojo Cliffs, striated red Jurassic/Cretaceous sandstone cliffs formed through eons of erosion and rise 180 metres above the river course. During your exploration you will come across different antelope species, klipspringers from a rocky outcrop, kudus, impalas, lesser spotted eagles (Aquila pomarina) and fork-tailed drongos.

Day 9

Great Zimbabwe

Enjoy your morning breakfast and check-out from Kingfisher guest house to embark on a drive to Great Zimbabwe with your driver for an almost 3 hours’ journey passing through Masvingo which is a small town with palm-lined, wide streets lined and rather shabby buildings; it is 27 km away from the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. Check-in at The Lodge at the Ancient City which is a unique hotel built around a granite outcrop in the same style as Great Zimbabwe, providing stunning views across the valley of Msasa towards the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe. Later during day visit the greatest medieval city in sub-Saharan Africa, the World Heritage–listed Great Zimbabwe which is one of the nation's most treasured sights, so much so that the country was named after it. Your driver will take you to your guide who will tour with you in the ruins of this ancient place for almost 3 hours giving you an insight view of these old grandeur ruins of Great Zimbabwe.

Day 10 -11

Eastern Highlands

After an early breakfast you leave Masvingo and head through diverse scenery of farm lands, rocky outcrops and into the magnificent mountainous area of the Eastern highlands, known as “The little England” of Zimbabwe for about 460 km. Driving through the beautiful Honde Valley and the Eastern Highlands Tea plantations you arrive and check-in at what has to be one of the best kept secrets in the world, the Aberfoyle Lodge situated in a very special part of Zimbabwe with rolling tea plantations, riparian forests and the Nyamkombe river surrounding the lodge, you will feel as though you are in an oasis of true serenity. There are also many species of Orchids found in the forests surrounding the lodge so if you are interested in the flora and fauna of the Eastern Highlands then you will love what they have to offer. The following day you will chose two activities to do such as Mutarazi Falls Sky Walk and Sky Line, White Water Rafting, Tree Canopy Tour, Guided Birding and the Bum Slide.

Day 12

Harare the Capital

Soon after breakfast you leave Aberfoyle lodge for Harare, Zimbabwe's Capital City on an almost 4 hours drive to Cresta Lodge Harare. This town exposes an impeccably clean city, bustling with busy shops and wide open streets; it is also the most populous city of Zimbabwe; laid-back with wide avenues, lined with dusty red earth, indigenous plants and blooming jacarandas giving it a lovely African summertime feel. Spend your last night in the hospitable Cresta Lodge Harare set in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings located on the outskirts of Harare’s dynamic city centre with idyllic setting for your most memorable events. Enjoy a City Tour of Harare and a visit to one of the biggest and oldest markets in Zimbabwe, Mbare Musika and also you might need to do some shopping for some African souvenirs.

Day 13

Airport Transfer on The Last Dawn

Finally after an interesting trip driving through in some of Zimbabwe’s best visiting sites you grab your breakfast to prepare for the last transfer with your driver and head to Harare International Airport depending with your flight time.
